What is nutritional therapy?
As a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and yoga and meditation teacher, I want to empower you to take back your health and find LASTING and SUSTAINABLE relief.
I’ve been where you are and it’s not fun. I struggled through years and years of anxiety and overwhelm, every digestive symptom you could imagine, painful periods, unexplainable acne, low energy, and more. I went to doctor after doctor only to be told I was fine or given some sort of medicine to manage a symptom in the short-term.
Nutritional therapy is NOT a quick fix, and your healing won’t happen overnight. But that’s because I’m not interested in finding you a temporary band-aid for your symptoms. Your symptoms are your body’s way of telling you that something is off, and it’s my job to assess these signs (taking into account your diet, lifestyle, stress levels, movement, health history, and mind-body connection) to uncover the root cause of your dysfunction and restore balance to your body.
I take a whole food first approach to your healing and use therapeutic nutrients (targeted supplements) when needed to support you in your healing. Food truly is medicine, but unfortunately doctors receive less than 20 hours of nutrition education in medical school, if that, and Big Pharma profits off of you remaining sick, suffering, and confused about your symptoms. I believe that there is 100% a place for medical doctors and pharmaceuticals, but there are also limits to the healing that they can offer you. Building a balanced team of healthcare professionals is key.
As an NTP, I take a holistic view of your health, understanding when assessing for foundational imbalances that your interconnected systems all impact one another. Beyond your physiological systems, your mind and your body are INEXTRICABLY linked. We can’t improve how our body digests food without also looking at how our minds digest our thoughts, emotions, environment, and social pressures. Your brain and your gut are in constant communication, and anxiety and digestive dysfunction are linked and actually feeding one another. That’s why I put just as much emphasis on providing you tools for mindfulness and stress management as I do on giving you nutritional guidance.
